COVID-19 has caused the cancellation of all stars symposia in 2020 and 2021 including those two foreseen in Shenzhen where we wanted to continue the annual stars China symposia previously held in Chengdu and Chongqing since 2015. European Chamber Annual General Meeting 2022

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China will take place on Thursday 26th May 2022 in Beijing at a yet to be confirmed venue. The AGM will be available for members to join both online and in person. At this year's AGM, a by-election will be held for members to elect a treasurer (1 position) for the remainder of the term in office (1 year).

China’s ongoing Omicron outbreak, which has led to widespread restrictions on travel and business activities in several major cities, has now become the top concern for multinationals. According to the results of a flash survey recently conducted by the European Chamber, China’s COVID-19 containment measures have had a negative impact on overall operations for three-quarters of respondents. In addition, the broader disruption to supply chains nationwide has resulted in significant economic costs. Investors are eager to know when the central government will relax its strict COVID policies and whether it still puts economic growth as one of its top priorities.
