In this roundtable discussion, Dean Lan XUE will share his insights and observations on China and its socio-economic developments over the past few decades, as well as business opportunities for multinationals in 2023.

The Shanghai Chapter Board Election, where the Chair of the Shanghai Chapter Board (1 position), Vice Chair (2 positions) and Board Member (4 positions) are elected for a two-year term (2023-2025), will take place on Thursday 18th May 2023 at 3:30 pm at European Chamber Shanghai office.

As such, we invite members to join the “Meet the Candidates” event on Tuesday, 16th May from 12:00-13:00 (Beijing time), where speeches by all the candidates running for election will be heard. On 1st January 2023, the newly-revised Law on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women came into force, improving the protection of women’s rights and interests in China in a wide range of areas.

The revised law stipulates that the state shall take necessary measures to promote gender equality, eliminate discrimination of all forms against women and prohibit the exclusion or restriction of women's legitimate rights and interests.
