The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to attend its next insightful Joint-WG meeting "Insights into Capital Markets: IPO Trends, M&A Dynamics, and Tax Incentives", aimed at providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of capital markets and Chinese M&A in both directions, equipping foreign firms in China with the knowledge to navigate these changes effectively.
Jointly hosted by the Investment WG and Legal and Competition WG, this event will feature Mr Jens Ewert, Chair of the Investment WG and Senior Partner of Deloitte, Mr Kai Kim, Salary Partner of Taylor Wessing, and Mr Yuan Chengfei, Vice Chair of the Investment WG and tax partner of PwC, who will share valuable insights into capital markets, M&A activities, and updates on the tax environment.

Mr. Jens Ewert
Mr. Jens Ewert
Jens Ewert, a Senior Partner with Deloitte China, has over 30 years of working experience in the professional services, based in Shanghai since end 2002 – he has been a member of Deloitte China Eastern Region Management team since then. Jens is the national leader for Deloitte China Life Science & Health Care Industry, leading a dedicated industry team comprising over 1000+ partners and professionals. He also covers our full range of multidisciplinary services, from consulting, risk & financial & tax advisory and audit & assurance, offering to Multinational Clients in China.
Jens has received the ‘Magnolia Silver Award’ from the Shanghai Government in September 2021, recognizing foreign business leaders for their special and outstanding contribution to the City’s development. He is also a Board member at the EUCCC Shanghai and the National Vice-Chair of the Investment Working group at the EU Chamber in China.
Prior to moving to China, he has been working in numerous countries always in professional services, such as France, Hungary, Vietnam and Indonesia. He hold a Master degree from University Paris X Dauphine in Business & Finance and a Diploma of Political Science from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He also attended numerous executive programs at IMD and Insead. He is married to Christine and calls France his home.
Mr. Kai Kim
Mr. Kai Kim
Kai is a Partner at the international law firm Taylor Wessing, based in the firm’s Shanghai office. He specializes in mergers & acquisitions and venture capital, and advises on a broad range of corporate law matters, from the incorporation and operation of companies to cross-border M&A transactions.
His practice has a particular focus on China-related projects, in particular M&A transactions involving Chinese investors abroad and foreign investors in China, as well as joint ventures with Chinese parties. Prior to joining Taylor Wessing, he worked in the Corporate / Mergers & Acquisitions practice group of a leading international law firm in its Berlin, Frankfurt, and Shanghai offices.
In addition to his legal education, Kai holds degrees in Sinology and has frequently served as a visiting lecturer on Chinese law and legal history at his alma maters, Humboldt University and the Free University of Berlin.
Mr. Chengfei Yuan

Chengfei joined PwC Société d’Avocats (law firm of PwC France) in April 2006 in Paris, is director now. He specializes in both China/French corporate tax and international tax with Sino-French bi cultural (French and Chinese speaker).
Chengfei is currently working for PwC Shanghai tax service (French tax desk) from October 8th 2013 . He has been involved extensively in dealings with European/French cross-border investment into the China and has extensive experiences in advising European/French multinational companies to formulate their investment strategies, structure their expansion and streamline their operating structures to comply with various business and tax regulations in China.
Since 2006, he has worked for a broad range of top tear financial and strategic clients (e.g. CAC 40 groups and European mid-cap companies). His experience encompasses a broad range of industries including Automotive, energy and utilities, consumer products, healthcare, industrial, transport, sports and media.
Chengfei obtained a Master degree of Corporate tax law from Paris Dauphine University (2006) as well as a Master degree of International commercial law from Paris X Nanterre University (2006).
