The European Chamber’s newly released Business Confidence Survey 2024 records a significant increase (+14pp y-o-y at 41%) in the proportion of respondents that experienced some form of decoupling between their headquarters (HQs) and China operations in the past two years. 43% report that this has resulted in a reduced ability to capitalise on new projects or investment plans (+10pp y-o-y).
2024 has presented a challenging backdrop of economic slowdown and trade tensions, making it increasingly important for European companies to better engage with internationally influential media to tell their China stories and rebuild HQ’s confidence in the China market. To tackle this important topic, the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Forum is delighted to invite seasoned journalists from international media outlets to have a panel discussion. This event will take a practical approach of how communications professionals can effectively connect with media as well as their suggestions to communications professionals in providing news content.
