The Environment Working Group is pleased to invite you to its 2022 Kick-off Meeting, Chair Elections and Position Paper Discussion on Tuesday 8th March, 15:00 to 17:00 at the European Chamber’s Beijing and Shanghai offices, as well as online via Zoom.
The first part of this meeting will consist of a keynote presentation by Mr Zhang Tong, Vice President of Shanghai ICT Developer Energy Technology (上海岚泽能源科技有限公司), a platform that pilots clean energy technology projects for incorporation into regional plans. Mr Zhang Tong will discuss how to deploy low carbon technology and bring to the Chinese market in an innovative way.
The second part of this meeting will consist of the 2022-2023 Chair Elections and Position Paper Discussion. Candidates running for the elections will introduce themselves and their goals for the Environment Working Group over the next 12 months. Only Environment WG members who have their registration confirmed for this meeting will have the right to vote in person or online, with one vote per company.

Working Group members interested in running for this year’s Chair elections, should take notice of the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
The Chairperson and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Working Group. Previous participation in the Working Group is essential.
The maximum duration of Chairperson or Vice Chairperson of a Group is three consecutive years. Candidates are only eligible for Chair or Vice Chair positions if he/she is physically based in China. The Environment Working Group is going to elect one Chairperson and three Vice-Chairpersons (in the Beijing and Shanghai chapters).

- the goals you have for the Energy working group over the following 12 months;
- how you intend to utilise or share professional resources for the benefit of the Working Group;
whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.
