In last November, the European Chamber of Commerce released the results of the fifth European Chamber Business Confidence Survey, an annual assessment of sentiment among European businesses operating in China. This year's survey was conducted just before the financial crisis became a global economic downturn and, as such, offers a highly relevant insight on current market conditions and challenges.
To present the findings of this year's survey, we are pleased to welcome
Mr. Joerg Wuttke, President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China
Mr. Yan Kang, Partner and Vice President of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
to provide an overview of the key facts and figures from the survey and discuss how these results can be interpreted given the current economic outlook.
Topics include:
* Presence and business set-up in China
* Investment strategy and future plans
* Business performance and market outlook
* HR policy and strategy
* Regulatory environment, WTO implementation
* Future investment: growth strategies, M&A
* Corporate Social Responsibility programmes and environmental policies
