Essential players in the global economy, the agriculture, food and beverage (AFB) industries are responsible for continuous innovation and intellectual property creation in their sectors, as they strive to meet evolving consumer demands and to add further value to their products. 

In a highly competitive China market, what are the precise things companies in the AFB sectors should pay more attention to so as to better protect their IP and secure market shares? The European Union Chamber of Commerce is delighted to invite you to attend our upcoming joint Agriculture, Food and Beverage and Intellectual Property Rights Working Group meeting,  scheduled to take place on Thursday, 17th October 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00, where Mr. Tim Jackson, Principal and Head of Patent Strategy and Development at Rouse Consultancy in China, will give a presentation on the Basics of Intellectual Property in the AFB industries, touching upon the following:

Tim is a Principal and Head of Patent Strategy and Development at Rouse Consultancy in China. He is based in the firm’s Shanghai office.

Tim is a lawyer and a registered patent attorney in both New Zealand and Australia. Tim has worked in the IP field for over 25 years specialising primarily in patents, although he also has experience with copyright, registered designs and trademarks as advising clients is rarely isolated to just one available right. He has acted in patent litigation before the New Zealand Courts and in pre-grant oppositions before the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) and IPAustralia for many years. Tim regularly advises local and international clients on freedom to operate, filing, prosecution, and commercialization strategies in order to advance their commercial objectives. Tim is also a past-President of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA).
