Building on the success of CSR Forum’s tenth anniversary Conference and publications, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter is pleased to announce the first edition of its Sustainable Business Awards - Innovation, Responsibility and Sustainability to be held on 12 September 2017.
Partner with Shanghai Daily as our media partner, and with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and through SYNTAO as our technical partner. The Awards aim to acknowledge innovation leadership achievements, raise sustainability awareness, and share the responsible business model experiences with organizations looking to embrace responsible business competition in China. The European Chamber believes that there is an urgent need for European enterprises to build a sustainable business model which integrates social and environmental responsibilities into commercial activities and makes competitive responsibility a strong driver for future development which goes along with the EU 2020 targets and China’s 13 Five-Year-Plan and its long-term sustainability goals.
All applications will be assessed in a two-stage process by a jury representing a wide-variety of businesses, social organizations, and think tanks as well as our technical partner SROI methodology practitioner GIZ. During the first stage, GIZ experts in the sustainability field conducting Sustainable Return on Investment, will analysis and evaluate all the cases collected and give scores. During the second stage, the judges’ panel will review and select award recipients for each category based on the criteria provided.
The submission is now OPEN. European Chamber member companies are eligible and encouraged to apply. The deadline for submissions is 28 April 2017. The award winners will be finally announced at the 2017 Sustainable Business Awards Ceremony on 12 September 2017. Selected application materials from winners will be published online and in the Chamber Shanghai Focus newsletter, candidates to the awards and various honorees will get the chance to be interviewed by our media partner.
