Comments to MOFCOM and NDRC on Catalogue of Industries for Encouraged Foreign Investment (2019)
The European Chamber very much welcomes the MOFCOM's decision to collect opinions on the "Catalogue of Industries for Encouraged Foreign Investment (2019)". Upon careful study of the draft and consultation with its members, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China has collated all member inputs and submitted suggestions to the MOFCOM for their consideration.

On 24st February the European Chamber’s Insurance Working Group sent a lobby letter to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission on the Regulation on the Establishment of Reinsurance Companies (Baojianhuiling [2002] 4) and the Regulation of the Reinsurance Business Management (Baojianhuiling 2010:8, revised in 2015).

The Chairs of the Insurance Working Group and Director of Government Affairs, Mr Xavier Sans Powell met with Director Lin Honglun, International Cooperation Department, China Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The purpose of the meeting was to give an overview of the outline of the insurance position paper which the Working Group is currently drafting in order to get the feedback from CIRC. The meeting ended with the proposal from CIRC to organise a joint workshop regarding insurance and new technologies like autonomous cars.
Meeting with Director of Statistics Department of NIFA
The European Chamber invited Director Zhou Guolin to a joint meeting organized by the financial services working groups in order to get an introduction to the NIFA and discuss with members the recent trends and challenges faced by internet finance, the regulatory environment and future perspectives of Internet+ as well as the role of European companies.
