Meeting with Officials of Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM on Investment Environment in China

During this meeting, members from food, chemical and pharma industries shared with MOFCOM officials their concerns of investment environemnt in China including limited market access for certian industries, changing regulatory environment and discretionary enforcement of laws and regulations. These factors have seriously affected foreign business operation in China and will have long-term impact on headquarter's decision on further investment in China. Dr. Ioana Kraft, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, shared with the MOFCOM officials the findings of the Chamber's Business Confidence Survey and compared Shanghai with regional hubs in Asian Pacific in regulatory environment, tax policies and quality of living. These can be the areas of further improvement for Shanghai.
