Position Overview:
Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is a world-class liberal arts university based in Kunshan, China, that offers a range of high quality, innovative academic programs for students from around the world. It was established in September 2013 as a U.S.-China partnership between Duke University and Wuhan University.
In our Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Department, we are seeking for a new position as the Program Assistant. This is a multifaceted role supporting an expanding team.
Executive Education is at the intersection of University life. Tasked with delivering business programmes for leading executive and managers, we draw together the unique faculty talent of DKU supplemented with outside adjunct faculty, the incredible facilities of the university campus in Kunshan and our own hotel. We also deliver our programmes from client locations and other third-party venues.
The Program Assistant provides comprehensive program delivery, administrative, and operational support to the Executive Education team, enabling the smooth execution of custom and open-enrollment programs and contributing to team efficiency and client satisfaction.
Reports to:
Manager of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning
Essential Duties:
End-to-End Program Operations
1. Support all phases of executive education programs, including preparation, on-site/virtual delivery, and post-program follow-up, to ensure seamless execution and high participant satisfaction.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Coordination
1. Assist in managing team documentation, meetings, and daily operations while serving as the key liaison with internal departments to ensure compliance, smooth logistics, and effective budget tracking.
Client & Business Development Support
1. Maintain internal systems, assist in organizing client meetings and events, and manage instructor and network databases to support relationship building and business growth initiatives.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.
Skills & experience
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree is required, majoring in Business Administration, Project Management, or other related fields.
2. At least 2-3 years’ work experience in an administrative role or in client service.
3. Solid English ability in terms of both writing and speaking. The team’s working language is English. Native Mandarin speaker, strong business writing skills in Chinese.
4. Analytical capability, with good commercial acumen, presence, business sense and financial knowledge.
5. Self-motivated, and willing to solve challenges and work under pressure.
6. High professionalism, and a team player with positive attitude.
