The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH works to build a future worth living around the world. About the country office:
The country office is responsible to ensure the representation of GIZ in China and to offer commercial and administrative service to the GIZ projects and its staff, e.g. human resource services, Risk Management and Security, Procurement and Contracting, Finance and Accounting, Administration, Travel management, IT-services. It is responsible for establishing and controlling internal rules and procedures.
Job description
Location: P.R. China, Beijing
Internship period: Starting from 1 March 2026
Deadline for applications: 14 December 2025
The Tasks:
The applicant will mainly work in the procurement, contracting and finance sections.
The applicant will support these sections in daily matters, such as:
- Market research and Market analysis on commercial bidders, compiling required documentation for contracts
- Analyze and organize financial data
- Preparation and translation of invoices and vouchers (to be digitalized)
- Pre-check of travel claims and vouchers, translation of key information on vouchers
- Support the drafting of local Standard Operating Procedures in these sections
- Filing, compiling and scanning of necessary documentation in line with internal compliance regulations
- Support in inventory and asset administration (2. Quarter 2026)
- Preparing presentations (.ppt or .xcl for meetings) and events for country office
- Conduct research on different topics as required
- General administrative support
Skills & experience
Qualification requirements:
- Native Chinese speaker with excellent German. Working knowledge of English is an asset.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High degree of initiative and willingness to learn, excellent analytical skills, as well as very good communication and teamwork skills
Note: only candidates who are enrolled in an university in China are eligible for this internship
