About the projects: Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change – NDC Implementation Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change – Climate Partnership Sino-German Cooperation on Emissions Trading Systems, Carbon Market Mechanisms, and Non-CO2 GHG Mitigation
With China’s pledge of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060, the country is demonstrating an increased determination to a profound low-carbon transformation of its economy and society. The Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change is supported by the German Federal Government through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
To facilitate the Sino-German policy dialogue on climate change and to accelerate climate action in these two countries, the Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change providesa knowledge-sharing platform for technical exchange among stakeholders. It was established to facilitate the sharing of lessons learned and to raise climate ambition among stakeholders in their decarbonisation pathways.

Job description
Internship in the field: Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change
Location: P.R. China, Beijing
Internship period: Six months, as soon as possible, at least three days a week
Deadline for applications: 6 October 2025
The Tasks:
During your internship, you will support the Climate Team with the following tasks:
· Searching, translating climate policy news, drafting website or WeChat articles in Chinese and English to disseminate to relevant stakeholders, · Drafting knowledge product (e.g., research briefing/case studies), · Editing a WeChat account for event reports, publications, or policy news, · Supporting in organizing various activities (e.g., preparing hybrid events and conferences, facilitating logistics and payment). |
Skills & experience
Qualification requirements:
You are a bachelor/ master student in international relations, law studies, economics, environmental sciences, or engineering science favorably with a focus on climate policy; experience in the field of climate policy (through studies, internships, or other activities) is a plus. English language skills are favorable. You have a high interest in policy reporting, communication, and computer applications.
· highly motivated in climate policy and willingly to learn both conceptual and administrative skills, · can work independently on multiple simultaneous tasks, · is a professional team player with excellent intercultural social skills, · has excellent command of MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
