Overview
The researcher’s primary responsibilities will be:
· Leading on the project of publications/reports with support and input from senior management and to ensure the quality and accuracy of language and consistency of messaging.
· Leading on and/or contributing to the Chamber’s podcasts.
· Making significant contributions to key Chamber publications, including formulating key messaging and drafting of executive summaries and supporting presentations.
· Expanding and refining the Chamber’s understanding and analysis of various economic trends, macro- and micro-economic developments and pertinent issue areas that will continue to define Sino-European relations in the coming decades.
· Working with colleagues on developing and managing consistent external messaging—in line with the views of working groups and Chamber members at large—for dissemination to key stakeholders in the media, government and other relevant institutions and organisations, with support and input from Chamber management.
· Managing the overall process for the production and delivery of the designated publications.
· Proofreading all Chamber content to ensure final copy is high quality and error free.
Skills & experience
- Native English speaker
- Exceptional writing and editing skills to organise content/information in a clear, reader-friendly, structural manner is essential
- Good knowledge of and interest in the Chinese commercial, economic and political environment
- Statistics / data analysis skills, strongly desirable (knowledge of STATISTICA, PSPP, Excel and other software is an advantage)
- Attention to detail, a focus on content and a creative and journalistic flare to writing
- Excellent project management skills, independent worker, self-motivated
- Basic knowledge of publication-related design software, such as InDesign, PhotoShop or Illustrator
- Creative skills
- Possess very strong communication skills
- Organised and professional, and must be able to work well in a multi-cultural office environment and coordinate well with colleagues in other cities
- Other European languages and Mandarin are a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role
- University degree in related field (economics, political science, communications, law …)
