Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Admissions Officer to join our prestigious international school team in Shanghai. The successful candidate will play a vital role in attracting and enrolling students into the school, utilizing sales and customer service approaches to thrive in a competitive market. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven individual with a passion for education and a proven track record in sales and customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive student enrollment: Utilize effective sales techniques and strategies to attract prospective students and their families, presenting the benefits of our institution and effectively addressing their concerns and inquiries.
2. Provide personalized guidance: Build strong relationships with prospective students and families, guiding them through the admissions process, and addressing any queries or challenges they may have.
3. Conduct and facilitate admissions interviews: Conduct thorough interviews with prospective students and their parents, assessing their suitability for our school's programmes and ensuring alignment with our educational values.
4. Manage admissions database: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospective students and their application statuses, ensuring efficient communication and follow-up.
5. Collaborate with the marketing team: Work closely with the marketing department to develop effective marketing strategies and materials that highlight our institution's unique offerings and attract prospective students.
6. Represent the school at events: Attend networking events, recruitment events, education fairs, and other promotional activities to showcase the school to potential students, parents, and stakeholders.
7. Stay updated on industry trends: Keep abreast of changes and developments in the international education industry in China, sharing information to ensure our institution remains competitive and adapts to market demands.
8. Collaborate with colleagues: Work collaboratively with other departments, such as academic, finance, and administration, to ensure a smooth transition for admitted students and support their onboarding process.
9. Adhere to regulations and policies: Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and school policies throughout the admissions process, ensuring transparency and fairness.
Skills & experience
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred (Business, Marketing, etc.).
2. Proven experience in sales and customer service, preferably in the education industry, hospitality industry or a highly competitive market.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and effectively address their needs.
4. Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills to overcome objections and close enrollment deals.
5. Knowledge of the international education landscape in China and familiarity with popular curriculums is an advantage.
6. Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
7. Attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
9. Familiarity with admissions software and databases is preferred.
