An internship position is available at the European Chamber’s Beijing Office. The intern will assist the Government Relations Department.
Key responsibilities include monitoring the industrial and trade developments in China and the EU; responding to inquiries on Chinese laws, regulations and policies, and supporting line manager to organize the activities between the European industry and the Chinese authorities. The position also involves supporting the line managers with the coordination and organization of Working Group meetings.
The internship presents an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the areas that the Chamber is involved in, including lobbying, events and organizing Working Group meetings with European industry.
Specific Duties
Government Affairs Support:
1. Assist with the production and presentation of the annual Position Paper (the key lobby facility and publication of the Chamber).
2. Collect and collate member comments on legislation drafts in response to calls for comments from various ministries.
3. Draft legislation/policy briefings and newsletters.
4. Conduct regulatory and market research.
Administrative Support:
1. Assist with organising working group and high-level meetings / public events, including invitation, registration, meeting minutes and other logistical aspects.
2. Track lobby activities.
3. Assist with English-Chinese translation and occasional interpretation.
Other tasks as required.
Internship Project:
1. To make the Chamber experience of our interns in the GA department more interesting and valuable, interns are kindly invited to give a presentation on a working group-related topic they have chosen and researched in advance.
