Job description
China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) is recruiting an Office Manager for its Guangzhou Office. The successful candidate will develop our business in South China, and oversee relationships with local government, CBBC members, and other key stakeholders in the region. He or she will lead a team based in Guangzhou.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the team in South China to achieve key targets.
- Drive growth in CBBC membership and CBBC services, as well as servicing the needs of existing clients.
- Work with the team to provide advice and consultation services to UK businesses of all sizes and experience in China.
- Maintain and develop relationships with government departments and local businesses in South China to support UK companies’ interests.
- Ensure the smooth running of the Guangzhou office, including financial reporting and monthly reporting.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, an energetic team player, and a highly credible representative for CBBC in the region.
Skills & experience
Specific requirements for the role are as follows:
- Proven track record as a manager, preferably with a services or consulting background.
- Thrives on developing motivated, results-oriented teams.
- Proactive approach to building business relationships at senior level.
- Experience in consultative selling and business development with both international and Chinese clients.
- Demonstrable understanding of the concerns of and issues faced by UK companies doing business in China.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including excellent written and spoken English (essential)
- Bachelor degree or Master degree (desirable)
