Job description
There are two internship positions available at the European Chamber Shanghai Office. The internships should last for 3-6 months, with weekly attendance of 3 to 5 working days onsite.
- starting ideally in November 2025, and
- starting ideally in January 2026.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Research on Europe-China trade and business-related policies and current affairs and weekly update of the policies & news in the Yangtze River Delta Area.
- Research on industry policies and current affairs. Monthly update of industry working group newsletters.
- Assist in organising working group meetings and/or government meetings. Tasks include sending invitations, preparing briefing notes, meeting agendas and meeting minutes, conducting registration, and other tasks as they emerge.
- English/Chinese translation and interpretation.
- Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the team leader.
Skills & experience
- Experiences in policy research and analysis. Have a good understanding of the European Chamber, EU-China relations, China’s political system, industrial policies in the China market and the local business environment .
- Proficient level of English (equivalent to IELTS 7.5 or TOEFL 102 and above) and Chinese (HSK 5 or above) is required. Knowledge of an additional European language is considered an asset.
- Background in international relations, economics, political sciences, law, business, languages, or other relevant areas. Study or work experience in Europe is an asset.
- Solid interpersonal skills (strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, proactivity, good communication).
- Ability to learn fast, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
