Ian Kay

We at the European Chamber feel a deep sense of loss at the untimely death, on 20th November, of our former Secretary General, Ian Kay. Ian, who then headed up a British insurance company in Beijing, was much involved with the establishment of the European Chamber in 2000. He served the Chamber as Executive General Manager from 2002 to 2004, and continued after his retirement as an adviser to the Chamber. Ian returned in the role of Secretary General from January to August this year, to support the Chamber through a period of change. In our seven years of existence, no one has done more than Ian to build up the European Chamber, but we remember him above all as a kind friend, and a colleague with a great sense of humour. We miss him, and pay tribute to all he has done for us and our organisation.

Our thoughts are with Ian's family. If you would like to send them a message, please email to euccc@euccc.com.cn and we will collect your messages and pass them on to his wife Sue.
