World AIDS Day 1st December

The 1st of December is World AIDS. Started in 1988, it aims to raise awareness, fight prejudice and improve education. UNAIDS estimates that there are around 40 million people living with AIDS worldwide.

In order to raise awareness in China, the European Chamber is organising a seminar on the 1st December dedicated to supporting this day. Academy Award Nominee, Robert Bilheimer, will be present at the screening of his critically acclaimed film "A Closer Walk" about the global AIDS epidemic. He will also be present to answer questions related the making of his film.

There will also be presentations by UNAIDS, about the current HIV/AIDS situation in China, and by the Global Business Coalition against HIV/AIDS, on how businesses help in the fight against AIDS.
