Policy Interpretation: China’s Plan to Innovate on Projects with Two High

On 6th December, the European Chamber Environment Working Group and Shanghai Carbon Valley Green Bay Industrial Park were joined by representatives from Jinshan District to share their latest insights on the TWO HIGH policy. Followed by perspectives from the chemical industry on how to best optimise power consumption through the application of innovative technology.

The TWO HIGH policy aims to reduce energy consumption by encouraging companies to innovate their processes and improve their energy efficiency. This forms part of China’s Ministry of Ecology & Environment’s guidelines for the development of TWO HIGH projects - projects with HIGH energy use and HIGH carbon emissions, in order to accomplish its goals of reducing carbon emissions to a peak by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060.
