Siemens has been awarded the “Most Valued Management Model Company” by the 10th China Annual Management Assembly. Other award winners include Chinese companies like SinoChem and COSCO, as well as multinationals such as Schneider and IBM. “This prestigious award once again highly recognizes our commitment to China’s sustainable development,” said Mei-Wei Cheng, CEO Siemens North East Asia and President and CEO of Siemens Ltd., China. “Siemens has set a role model for multinationals in China through our more than 138 years of history in the country, our pioneering spirit and our long-standing cooperation with Chinese partners.”

The 10th China Annual Management Assembly was initiated by Talents Magazine, a leading business magazine in China, and co-organized by Sina.com and Beijing Youth Daily. The Assembly this year aims to discuss among business leaders a practical roadmap for transitions of Chinese state-owned enterprises, private businesses and multinational companies. The “Most Valued Management Model Company” award by the Assembly is to acknowledge enterprises who achieved outstanding performances and made remarkable contributions to China’s economic and social development by successful company management and governance.

To date China is the second largest (after the US) market of Siemens outside Germany. Siemens’ China-wide operation network ensures that the company is close to its customers to be able to respond quickly and efficiently to their needs. Recognizing China as the fastest-growing emerging market that provides unique opportunities for SMART innovation (Simple, Maintenance-friendly, Affordable, Reliable and Timely-to-market), Siemens further extends its R&D base in China with emphasis on locally designed and developed products and solutions tailored for the Chinese market. With the world’s largest Environmental Portfolio, Siemens has a strong track record in providing green technologies and solutions for China’s sustainable development, such as the Yunnan-Guangdong HVDC line that can reduce 30 million tons of carbon dioxide per year.
