On 21st May, the Construction Forum in Beijing Chapter and Shanghai Chapter are going to jointly hold the Construction Forum Kick-off Meeting where the 2025-2027 elections for local chairs in the respective chapters will take place.

Elections:
Call for Candidates to Chair and Vice Chairperson – Roles and Responsibilities
The Chairperson and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Forum, including steering Forum events. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are senior industry representatives with relevant expertise and government contacts who have the time and willingness to support the Forum. Previous participation in the activities of the Forum is essential. Before applying for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, we recommend that you obtain approval from your company. Candidates are only eligible for Chair or Vice Chair positions if they are physically based in China.
- Positions in BJ: One (1) Beijing Forum Chair and One (1) Vice Chair.
- Positions in SH: One (1) Shanghai Forum Chair and One (1) Vice Chair.

- In your motivation letter, please indicate:
- Which position you plan to run for;
- How your background and experience match the role;
- The goals you have for the Forum activities for the following 12 months;
- How you intend to utilise or share resources for the benefit of the Forum;
- Whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.
Please note:
- On the election day, candidates will be asked to give a 3–5-minute election speech.
- All elected Chairpersons must sign the Code of Conduct following the election.
- An email will be sent to the Forum 3 days prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached.
Voting Requirements:
- You must register to vote with Mr Zihan Xu (zhxu@europeanchamber.com.cn) up to 24 hours before the election, by COB 19th March.
- There may only be one vote per company – if more than one member from the same company would like to attend the meeting, please clearly indicate which member will vote in the election. Voting will take place after each candidate has had the opportunity to give a short election speech.
