The NBFI Sub-Working Group is pleased to invite you to its next working group meeting, “Interpretation of Key Points in the Newly Revised Anti-Money Laundering Law and its Impact on EU Enterprises in China.” It will be held on Wednesday, 4th December 10:00 – 11:30 at the European Chamber Shanghai and Beijing offices, and online.
On 8th November, Chinese lawmakers voted to adopt a revised Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Law after several rounds of public consultations. The new law, which will take effect on 1st January 2025, aims to strengthen financial and non-financial institutions’ AML obligations, allow China to introduce its own high-risk country list and increase breach penalties. In addition, the legislation aims to strike a better balance between personal privacy protection and anti-money laundering work.
Prior to the latest adoption of the law, European Chamber members actively participated in both rounds of public consultations. At this meeting, Yuan Juanbin and Qu Yingying of AllBright Law Offices will deliver a bilingual presentation on the key revisions in the Anti-Money Laundering Law and their potential impact on European enterprises in China, with a particular focus on financial institutions.
If you would like to attend this meeting, please feel free to register at the top of this page or contact Ms Kalina Pateva at kpateva@europeanchamber.com.cn indicating your attendance offline in Shanghai/Beijing or online. If you have any questions you would like to pose to the speakers in advance, please feel free to send an email to the same address.
