Understanding China has become more important yet difficult than ever. Whether China is viewed as a rival, partner, or a mix of both, effective policy will only be as good as the information on which it is based.
The European Chamber warmly invites you to join the Exclusive Dialogue on 13 November (Wednesday) in Beijing featuring Scott Kennedy, the Senior Adviser and Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), for a deep dive on the Chinese economy.
Dr. Kennedy is a leading authority on Chinese economic policy and U.S.-China commercial relations and has travelled to China for 36 years. Ongoing focuses include China’s innovation drive, Chinese industrial policy, US-China relations, and global economic governance.
In this Exclusive Dialogue, discussion topics include:
- Evolving evaluations of China’s economy and its impact to European businesses.
- Comments on China’s latest stimulus package initiative.
- Latest CSIS report on the diversification strategies of Taiwanese investors in Mainland China.
- US presidential election and US-China relations.
Dr. Kennedy has been one of the few American scholars to travel between Washington and Beijing in recent years. His travels are driven by a firm belief that field research, direct observation, and talking and listening to Chinese perspectives must be a part of our toolkit to understand China. Join us as he shares his experiences speaking to Chinese leaders from business, government, and academia on what makes China tick, where is the country going, and what connects us.
