* Please fill in the “Questions for Speakers” field when registering to submit your questions regarding policies for SMEs. They may be answered during the Q&A section with Shanghai Government.
Although many European SMEs are hidden champions in niche markets, they face various obstacles in the Chinese market: limitations in size and funding, as well as a lack of efficient and smooth communication mechanisms with relevant government bodies. These barriers hinder their development, making it difficult for foreign enterprises to report operational challenges to relevant authorities promptly and receive effective solutions.
To address this issue, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, representing European SMEs in China, is actively partnering with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. During the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Chamber will host a dialogue event between European SMEs and the Shanghai government, with the goal of establishing a two-way communication platform between businesses and government institutions. This event is intended to allow the government to clearly articulate policies designed to support SME development in Shanghai, while also providing businesses with a direct channel to present their operational challenges to relevant authorities, fostering collaboration to identify effective solutions.
