On 22nd October 2024, the European Chamber Sports Forum will gather sports & marketing leaders to discuss the future of sports in China. At the peak of the Tour de Guangxi - happening that time in China - we will have representatives from the top cycling teams & brands with us. Meet brands, athletes, sports agencies and sports decision-makers at our 2nd European Chamber Sport Summit in downtown Shanghai.
The recent ‘cycling focus’ has brought cycling events into the spotlight, with road races such as the ‘Three Grand Tours’ known to the general public. As a sport developed with a long history in Europe, cycling was included in the official program of the first Olympic Games and has now developed into five sub-disciplines, with 22 gold medals competed for at each Olympic Games. With the gradual recovery of large-scale sports events in the post-epidemic era, the role of large-scale cycling events has far exceeded the scope of sports itself. Hosting large-scale cycling events is important for displaying the image reflecting the spirit of a city and stimulating local economic development. Including the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and Tour de l'Ouest, the most well-known road cycling event. In the 2017 season, the Tour de Guangxi road cycling tour landed in China and became China's most famous road cycling event and also became the highest-level event in the domestic and world road cycling field.
Such international games encourage sports participation in China and beyond, through corporate sponsorship, community initiatives, and extensive media coverage, promoting a healthier, more active generation. Our speaker series will explore two critical themes focused on China: a) transforming youth sports participation and b) maximising sports sponsorship effectiveness.
This speaker series unites industry leaders, policymakers, and community advocates to discuss how sponsors can contribute to the holistic health of diverse populations. Together, we can explore strategies, share best practices, and create a more inclusive and equitable future.
