The recent event held by European Chamber shed light on the supply chain uncertainty faced by European companies operating in China. While some enterprises are considering the relocation of their supply chain, none expressed intentions to abandon the Chinese market. As a result, the need for an optimal supply chain to efficiently transport goods from Europe's production lines to Chinese consumers has become paramount.
Customer experience now takes center stage, with order fulfillment time becoming a critical performance indicator. While increasing inventory at sales points was a traditional solution, an integrated supply chain strategy gains traction. Seamless just-in-time transportation from European production lines to Chinese storage locations requires multi-modal capacity (air, ocean, rail, trucking) and efficient customs declaration processes.
While the objectives seem straightforward, however in theory, the practical implementation presents challenges. This seminar hosted by European Chamber serves as a platform facilitating best practices among different industries.
