The European Chamber Shandong Initiative will organise a two-day business delegation to Qingdao, Shandong Province on 20th–21st April 2023. This high-level delegation will be led by Chamber President Jörg Wuttke and will focus on the high-end manufacturing industry with carbon neutrality as the goal.
Highlights of the programme:
- High-level forum featuring Qingdao municipal leaders and representatives of local giant Chinese enterprises and European companies.
- VIP meeting between Chamber leadership and party secretary/mayor of Qingdao.
- Industrial roundtable and matchmaking with relevant departments on the municipal level.
- Themed field visits and roundtables with competent authorities to understand regional development and explore business opportunities.
- Chamber and Shandong Initiative briefing to European companies in Qingdao.
- EU Projects introduction including EU SME Centre Phase IV and China IP SME Helpdesk. EU SME Centre-led workshop on their report on SME Policy Environment.
We would like to call for all interested members from across the Chamber to register for this delegation to Qingdao. Advisory Council members will be given priority and are entitled to register one (1) C-level representative per company free of charge, with any further representatives at the rate of CNY 2,500 per person, which will cover local transportation, meals and organisation service fees.
Please note that seating is limited to a maximum of 20 in total, and C-level participants will be given priority on a first-come-first-served basis.

About Qingdao:
Qingdao is located at the southeastern tip of the Shandong Peninsula. With a population of about 9.5 million and a gross domestic product of CNY 1.24 trillion in 2020, the city ranked third in northern China for years. Qingdao Port ranks sixth in the world in terms of throughput and includes modern marine industry development pioneer zones.
