Dear Members,
The Investment Working Group and Finance & Taxation Working Group is pleased to invite you to the meeting “Capital Markets Update”, which will take place on Tuesday, 24th May, 16:00-17:00 (Beijing Time) online via Zoom. At this meeting, Jens Ewert, National Chair of the Investment Working Group, and Bagrin Angelov, Head of China Cross-border M&A, Managing Director at China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), will share recent updates on China’s capital market. Specifically, the presentation will cover 1) What's new on CN Capital markets. 2)Equity, Debt and Private Markets (M&A Investments) - changes and outlook.

Mr. Jens Ewert

Mr. Jens Ewert
Jens Ewert, is a Senior Partner with Deloitte based in Shanghai office and China Firm since 2002, and has over 30 years of working experience in the professional services. He is a member of Deloitte China Eastern Region Management team for many years already.
Jens responsibilities include:
- Deloitte services to Multinational Clients (MNC) in China. This covers our combined store front of Advisory services (Consulting, Financial Advisory, Tax & Legal and Risk Advisory) as well as our Audit & Assurance services.
- Leading the Deloitte China Life Science & Health Care Industry – covering an dedicated industry team comprising over 600+ partners and professionals focused on working with Life Science & Pharma companies as well as Healthcare and related services groups.
Jens is currently a Board member at the EUCCC Shanghai Chapter and the National Chair of the Investment Working group since 2016 at the EU Chamber in China.
He started his career in 1988 in France, and other than China, he has been living and working Hungary (1990-94), the US, Vietnam (1995-98) and Indonesia (1998-99). Jens holds German and French nationalities, and calls France – beyond Shanghai - his home. He received his education in France (Paris), University Paris Dauphine and the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris, and holds a CPA Australia license. He is a passionate Tennis and Golf player in Shanghai, when time permits.
Mr. Bagrin Angelov

Mr. Bagrin Angelov
Bagrin Angelov is an M&A Managing Director in the Investment Banking division of China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) based in Beijing, where he is exclusively dedicated to China cross-border M&A situations. Mr. Angelov has profound experience in supporting private multinational corporations and state owed enterprises with their cross-border M&A undertakings. To date he has advised on 100+ M&A deals globally (both in emerging and developed markets such as UK, USA, Germany, and Australia), with a combined transaction value of some US$100bn. Prior to CICC Mr. Angelov worked in the Investment Banking divisions of Barclays, ABN AMRO, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and a Middle Eastern SWF.
Mr. Miguel Montoya

Mr. Miguel Montoya
Mr. Montoya has been working with KPMG since 2000, when he joined from another first tier consulting firm. Before coming to China in 2005, he developed an specialization supporting cross-border M&A transactions between Europe, US and LatAm.
In 2005 Mr. Montoya joined KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice in China, and has since provided advisory services to a range of western multi-national firms investing in China and Hong Kong.
Mr. Montoya has been involved in some notorious transactions by Chinese multinationals, such as the acquisitions of Pirelli and Kraus Maffei by ChemChina, the acquisition of a 50% interest in Argentina’s largest gold mine by Shandong Gold, Spanish global leader in sport rights management and broadcasting, Imagina or recent acquisitions by Chinese firms of energy transmission and distribution assets in Peru and Chile, he is regarded as a reference in outbound M&A in industry in Northern China.
Mr. Montoya is the partner tasked with upholding KPMG’s support to the European and US multinational community in Northern China. In this role, he represents KPMG as a member of the Advisory Committee of the European Chamber in China.
