The European Chamber Southwest Chapter is delighted to invite you to join the IPR in China Overview & Protection of Companies IPR in Contractual Clauses of Commercial Contracts Seminar held by D'Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel on 25th April, 2019 (Thursday) in Chongqing.
Concerns for the protection of intellectual property rights have been at the forefront of the international business scene for a number of years now, however, it has come to a head in recent years especially with Made in China 2025 and the The US-China Trade Dispute.
Although in recent years China has made great strides in order to move away from it’s image of‘Copycat China” the fact remains that China is still the origin of most counterfeit and pirated goods arriving in the European Union, as more than 80% of the seizures of counterfeit and pirated goods come from China or Hong Kong.
It is therefore essential that European firms, in particular smaller companies, to be aware of the threat of counterfeiting and piracy when engaging in business activities and thus allow them to prepare themselves accordingly. Therefore, the process of carefully selecting and monitoring business partners whether it be through conducting comprehensive due diligence on all suppliers and distributors prior to any business arrangements, or the protection of intellectual property rights can begin initially from the commercial contracts in which a company engages in, therefore, D’Andrea & Partners seeks to break down fundamentally the latest legislation in regards to IPR in China & on the international stage & where businesses engaged in the Chinese marketplace can establish Intellectual property rights prevention measures in their commercial contracts.

Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.
