The European Chamber invites you to the round table on policies and regulation on energy saving in Guangdong Province. Invited experts and representatives of Guangdong government will provide information and updates on policies and regulations.
China’s 12th Five – Year Plan seeks to strike a delicate balance between continued and sustainable growth and environmental protection. The largest 10 000 companies operating in China have been required to submit energy reduction and carbon emission reduction plan. Under the 10 Thousand Enterprises Energy Saving Program, there are 970 enterprises in Guangdong province having been identified to generate a total energy saving volume at 15, 626 K ton of standard coal during 2011 – 2015.
Guangzhou Carbon Emission Credit Exchange was unveiled on 11th September 2012. Pilot Carbon Emission Credit Trading system is expected to be set up in Guangdong Province in 3 phases from 2012 to 2012. During the panel discussion experts will outline who are those enterprises which need to report their carbon emission data and eligible to participate in the carbon emission credit trading scheme.

- Mr. Robert Zorn, Manager, Corporate Development, TÜV Rheinland Greater China Robert Zorn has been with the TÜV Rheinland Group since 2005 and has worked in various places, including Germany, mainland China and Hong Kong. Mr. Zorn is responsible for Corporate Strategic Projects Management in Greater China. As the initiator and pioneer of TÜV Rheinland Group Green Solutions, Mr. Robert Zorn has provided tailor-made Green Solutions for many international enterprises in different industries. His efforts help enterprises realize the promise of sustainability. Cooperated enterprises include FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co. Ltd, Lenovo Group, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics.
- Mr. Fallight Xu Qiuming, Project Manager of Strategic Project Management and Project Controlling, Corporate Development Department, TUV Rheinland (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. Expert in TIC industry. His expertise includes the quality management of 3rd testing and certification system, environmental labeling scheme as well as project management. Mr. Xu is a trained auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC Guide 65, ISO 14064-1 and IEEE 1680 (trained by Green Electronic Council), and very familiar with the operation of environmental labeling scheme in accordance to ISO 14024. Mr. Xu is also a PMI certified Project Management Professional. During his career in Singapore, Mr. Xu used to be the expert member of Singapore National Mirror Committee to ISO CASCO. Mr. Xu is currently the expert member of US National Mirror Committee to ISO CASCO and member of ANSI International Conformity Assessment Committee. Mr. Xu is employed by TUV Rheinland as Project Manager dedicated to Green Solutions, a strategic project ran by TUV Rheinland in Greater China.
- Ms. Katherine Ji is a qualified Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) lead validator and verifier and also Senior Consultant of ERM. With over three years’ working in CDM sector, Ms. Ji has project experience of about 30 validations and 30 verifications and gained a lot of experience in carbon emission trading in project aspect. Ms. Ji is familiar with the technical, environmental and regulatory aspects of projects for reducing carbon emissions.
