PwC F&T workshop: Customs Compliance and Business Tax to Value Added Tax Reform Update
Secure Trade Compliance under Complex and Challenging Environment and Update of the Latest Progress of the Business Tax to Value Added Tax Reform?
In 2012, China Customs has been tasked with a new (and higher) revenue collection target. To achieve the target as well as strengthen customs supervision on cross-border activities, China Customs has launched the "Nation Shield" programme on a national scale. As post-importation audits and investigations are viewed as a source of revenue collection and a tool of customs supervision, Customs are likely to continue to scrutinise companies in various sectors. Their focus may include but not limited to customs valuation and tariff classification, bonded manufacturing, and other duty exemption programmes.
Despite the complex environment of customs and international trade in China, a planned and structured approach with the right resources assigned and correct responding actions taken would result in cost savings, higher levels of compliance and fewer unwanted surprise during an customs audit/ investigation.
In this run of workshop, PwC's customs and trade specialists have prepared a series of insights and cases pertaining to customs audits and investigations.
In addition, after the launch of the VAT Reform Pilot Program in Shanghai earlier this year, the State Council officially announced on 25 July that Tianjin city will start VAT Reform Pilot Program on 1 December 2012.
As you are aware, the transition of certain services from Business Tax regime to VAT regime will represent a significant challenge to most businesses, as the experience from Shanghai and Beijing has shown that early preparation is crucial to meeting the challenge. Enterprises will be looking to not only being informed of what is happening but also what should be doing to prepare to get ready for what is happening.
In this workshop, we will also share with you the latest progress of the Business Tax to Value Added Tax Reform in other cities and Tianjin, and how the enterprises to get prepared for the impact brought by the VAT reform to your daily business.
