The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to a breakfast seminar on Foreign Investment Facilitation in China on July 29th at the Sofitel Hyland Hotel.
On 13 April 2010 the State Council issued Certain Opinions on “Further Facilitating the Utilization of Foreign Investment”. In this document, the State Council put forward several important policy developments for foreign investors in China.
Touching on sensitive fields such as financial capital markets, industrial opening areas, industrial region shift, foreign investment utilization patterns, and examination and approvals on foreign investment, the Opinions serve as an important indicator of the future of foreign investment policy in China. It delivers a clear message that the investment direction has been altered from a somewhat generalist and broad approach to a more focused model that aims to support China's development requirements and benefit China's global competitiveness.
Generally, these regulations open the doors to foreign investors to the widely concerned, sensitive fields like financial capital market to foreign investment subject to some limitations. So this is a welcome broadening and clarification. In particular, this is important for foreign private equity firms that wish to invest in China, which are keen to consider whether they can use these new rules to structure their funds and investments in China.
What do these regulations mean for foreign investors in China?
How will these regulations affect decisions by foreign investment enterprises?
What future developments can be expected?
This seminar will share some insightful views on this new regulation and help identify new business opportunities in China.
