The European Chamber ICT and Cybersecurity Working Groups are pleased to invite you to a joint working group meeting on the prospects of international innovation cooperation in the information and communication technology industry, taking place on Thursday 18th May, 9:30-11:50, at the Academic Hall of Chinese Academy of Sciences offline.

I. Background
The internal and external environment for China's economic development is undergoing profound changes, and the country is accelerating the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and enhancing its high level of self-reliance and self-improvement ability towards building a world science and technology power, a cyber power and a digital China. Under this background, the European Chamber’s ICT and Cybersecurity Working Group and the Research Centre for Industrial Science and Technology Innovation of the Institutes of Sciences and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) jointly organised a seminar to discuss how to better promote international innovation cooperation in the ICT industry in the context of globalisation.

中国经济发展的内外部环境正发生着深刻变化,面向世界科技强国、网络强国和数字中国建设,举国上下正在加快实施创新驱动发展战略、提升高水平自立自强能力。在此大背景下,由中国欧盟商会信息与通信技术、网络安全工作组和中国科学院科技战略咨询研究院产业科技创新研究中心举办研讨会,探讨如何更好地在全球化背景下推动信息与通信技术产业国际创新合作。

Mr. Michael Chang
Mr. Michael Chang
Member of China Leadership team, EVP, Head of CX Strategy & Technology, Board Member of Nokia FUNO. He has over 22 years of managerial experience in multinational companies on ICT research & innovation, standardization, technology strategy and regulations and Pre-sales. After joining Nokia, he has assumed various managerial roles in research & standardization, strategy & regulations, Solution Pre-sales/Sales support. He currently looks after all major technologies frontline relevant to Nokia mission and thought leadership in Greater China, e.g. 5G/6G, oRAN/vRAN, critical network evolution, cloud & digital transformation, technology policies for cybersecurity and data security.
Supervisory Board Member of CCSA (China Communication Standard Association). National Chair of ICT working group, EU Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC). Michael served as Vice President and Board Member for EUCCC (2017-2019), where he played a leading role in China-EU high level dialogue on High-Tech & Digital policies and cross-industry exchanges. Michael was a member of the “EU-China Expert Group on Digital Economy & Cybersecurity” formed by China & EU government as top dialogue platform on digital policies coordination.
Prof. Jiang Yu
Prof. Jiang Yu
Professor Jiang YU is a researcher and PhD supervisor at the Institutes of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Executive Director of the Research Centre for Industrial Science and Technology Strategy and Professor at the School of Public Policy and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He used to be a Royal Society International Fellow at Cambridge University. He is also a member of the Committee of Science and Technology Experts of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the chairman of the Digital Innovation Expert Committee of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy.
Professor YU has long focused on research on global high-tech industry competition and strategic management, and national science and technology innovation policy and management. He has chaired a number of important national scientific research projects, including key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, the key research projects in philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education and key research projects of the central high-end think tanks. He has also undertaken a large number of national science and technology policy and innovation strategy projects commissioned by national ministries and commissions, and the think-tank research reports of his team have been adopted by national decision-making bodies for many times.
