In 1999, Mr. Ettinger joined Keller and Heckman, a law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. He is the Chief Representative of Keller and Heckman’s Shanghai office counseling clients on the import and export of food and food-related products to ensure compliance with regulations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Mr. Ettinger has worked in the firm’s Washington, D.C. and Brussels offices, and he is uniquely positioned to counsel foreign food and food packaging companies in the Asian market.

In China, he handles compliance and enforcement matters ranging from ingredient and labeling to product detention and food recalls. Mr. Ettinger is on the Executive Board of Mackrell International (a global network of over 90 international law firms). Mr. Ettinger is Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai’s Food, Agriculture & Beverage Committee and member of Keller and Heckman’s Marketing Committee. He is a frequent lecturer and author on international food safety matters and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® 2016 and 2017 (FDA Law).

Prior to joining Keller and Heckman, Mr. Ettinger was a trademark attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Additionally, he has extensive trial experience as a former assistant district attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office in New York where he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors.

Jenny Xin Li joins Keller and Heckman LLP in 2007. She counsels and represents business and trade association clients in compliance issues regarding foods, dietary supplements, drugs, cosmetics, pesticides and consumer products. Ms. Li works extensively on issues in jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region with respect to food labeling, nutrition and health claims, advertising, food additive and ingredient submissions, GMOs, food recalls, defense of government investigations and inquires, product registration and notification, import and export certifications.

Sharon is a legal consultant who supports the food and drug practice attorneys by monitoring developments impacting the regulations of food, food packaging, drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics throughout Asia. Sharon assists clients by helping multi-national companies with regulatory compliance issues, including food and food-related products, feed and feed additives, medical devices, and cosmetics.
