Speakers
Mr. Maarten Bijl
Maarten Bijl (1977) was born and raised in the Netherlands, and he holds a MSc aerospace engineering from the Technical University of Delft and an Executive MBA degree of RSM business school. Maarten serves as the CEO of Guangzhou head quartered SHV Energy China since July 2016, which is the holding company for all Chinese LPG and LNG activities Of SHV Energy, the global leader in decentralized LPG solutions. Operating mainly under the Xiweigas brand and with circa CNY 3.5 billion revenues and 5000 employees it is one of the leading LPG players of Mainland China. In South China, Xiwei is the market leader in off grid energy retailing and works closely with the government to improve local air quality through cleaner transport solution such as hydrogen and Industrial coal to gas conversions. The 2018 impact Xiwei’s activities had on reducing local emissions is the equivalent of planting 295,000 pine trees and letting them grow for 25 years.
Maarten has served on the board of the European Chamber of South China since April 2019.
Before coming to China, Maarten worked in different countries in strategy, commercial and general management roles. He started his career in 2003 at TNT Express on the commercial side of global supply chains, which took him to China for the first time in 2004.
Mr. Oliver Regner
Being a commercial lawyer and holding a pre-degree in business administration, Oliver has been providing and developing services for enterprises in continuous executive positions. He engage(d) in private business, chambers of commerce/business associations and development cooperation in Germany, Georgia, China and Southeast Asia. Additional activities are related to vocational training and lectures, tourism management and the support of EU programmes. He is (co-)author of several publications and frequently sought for as a speaker/moderator for business events.
Ms. Trang Bui
Trang Bui is Senior Director and is responsible for all Industrial & Logistic, Office and Retail transaction undertaken by JLL in Vietnam. Trang has over 14 years’ experience in tenant representation, marketing & leasing and market research. She is leading the retail-office-industrial Consultancy & Leasing, strengthening the existing competitive advantage of Tenant Representative & Landlord Representative through the global network of the organization.
Having joined JLL in 2012, Trang has successfully executed the consultancy and leasing services for over 4.6 million sq.ft of retail, office and warehouse spaces, as well as won numerous projects throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar. She has developed extensive expertise in advising commercial tenants on their office and/or factory leasing needs, with particular focus on lease acquisition, rent review, lease renewal and restructure consultancy.
Trang holds B.B.M. (Bachelor of Business Management) in Real Estate from National University of Vietnam.
Mr. Hans Kerstens
Hans Kerstens obtained a Master in commercial sciences at EHSAL in Brussels Belgium, with a specialization in finance and risk management.
After his graduation, he started his career with KatoenNatie, a large Belgium logistics and supply chain company. At KatoenNatie he was responsible for starting up new flows and entities. He has experienced in this field in Europe, US and Asia.
Hans has been in Asia for more than 5 years now. Currenlty he is working for DEEP C Industrial Zones in Vietnam since early 2016 where is he in charge of the sales department.
Mr. Trent Davies
As Manager of the firm’s Ho Chi Minh City International Business Advisory team Trent is responsible for guiding international clients through their market entry process into Vietnam and the wider ASEAN region, from pre-market entry assessment to corporate structuring, and ongoing administration and compliance support in conjunction with his tax, accounting and payroll colleagues.
Trent has a wealth of experience working in Asia, having been based in Vietnam for over 6 years. Prior to joining Dezan Shira & Associates, Trent worked for the Australian Trade and Investment Commission assisting Australian businesses to develop business in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. His work included coordinating and implementing high-level Australia-Vietnam trade missions and pre-investment planning trips for private corporations, in addition to market research and consulting on market entry strategies and business matching in market. Trent is a native of Adelaide in Australia, where he studied Commerce and Management at the University of Adelaide.
