Dear Working Group member,
As a direct result of the EU-China Energy Roadmap agreed upon by China and the EU in the context of the 2016 Summit, 2018 marked the start of the of the EU-China Energy Cooperation Platform (ECECP), a 3.5 million Euro project aimed at enhancing the EU-China cooperation on energy.
This enhanced cooperation should help increase mutual trust and understanding between China and the EU and contribute to a global transition towards clean energy on the basis of a common vision of a sustainable, reliable and secure energy system. Reinforce the political dialogue between China and the EU and create conditions for better access for EU business to energy-related markets are key elements for the implementation of the ECECP.
How this could benefit companies and how companies could play a role in successfully carrying out the ECECP with be explained by and discussed by Ms Megan Richards, Director of Energy Policy, DG Energy, European Commission, for a special ad hoc meeting.
