The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to the launch of the European Business in China – Position Paper 2018/2019 and 18 Months since Davos Thematic Report.
In July, European Chamber published a new thematic report 18 Months since Davos analysing the progress and shortcomings of China’s reform agenda since President Xi Jinping spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos in early 2017. The reports serve important roles to help European business owners to understand the latest policies regarding the further opening and reform, as well as the stance of European business on those policies.
The European Business in China – Position Paper is the European Chamber’s primary annual publication. While the European Chamber believes that tariffs are not an appropriate tool for resolving complex issues such as unfair technology transfers, market access barriers and an opaque regulatory environment, it does share the US’ impatience. Rather than resorting to swinging a hammer, the European Chamber has assembled its European Business in China Position Paper 2018/2019, which examines concrete concerns and offers recommendations that can help to provide a constructive solution to the current situation.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. We would also like to bring European Business investors together to discuss how China reform across a wide variety of industries on the 40 years of Journey and to exchange opinions on where tangible results have been seen by European companies in China, as well as to outlook the future of Chinese economic rise and the development of foreign Investment in China.
