In his recently published book The China Paradox, senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Dr. Paul G. Clifford draws from his 30 years’ experience in China, as a consultant, an executive and a Peking University professor, to lay bare the delicate balance of forces which lie at the heart of China's economic success over the last four decades.
During this session with European Chamber member’s, Clifford will place China’s hybrid developmental model in historical context, shedding light on the legacies that thwarted earlier attempts at change and which today still threaten to put the brakes on pledged further reforms.
Clifford will share case studies on the restructuring of state industry, the role of foreign investment and the emergence of Chinese firms onto the world stage.
