Dear Finance & Taxation Working Group Members,
I am delighted to invite you to the next Finance & Taxation Working Group Meeting to take place next Wednesday, 12th March from 9 to 11 am at the European Chamber Office in Shanghai.
Agenda :
1. Updates on Enterprise Income Tax Law implementation (open discussion)
2. Finance & Taxation Working Group Report
3. 2008/2009 Position Paper : Position Paper schedule and key recommendations priorities. A copy of the 2007/2008 Finance & Taxation Position Paper is attached to this email
4. Forward agenda for 2008
At this meeting we will also hold the 2008 Finance & Taxation Working Group Elections: As you may know, the Finance & Taxation Working Chair and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings.
I would like to thank Michael Pfaar who chaired the Working Group for the past three years until late 2007 when he relocated back to Germany and KK Ho who was a Vice Chair for the Working Group for the last two year for their commitment to make this group a vibrant platform for lobbying and information exchange.
I am further pleased to announce that Simon Tan, current acting Chair, has graciously expressed his willingness to continue in the role of Chair. However, he along with the Chamber Secretariat encourages any other member who may be interested to also put forth his/her candidature for this position. Any member who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber by contacting me on ikraft@euccc.com.cn by March 10th.
