The Shanghai Annual Dinner – Becoming a Global Centre, held on 13rd of December 2016, is the perfect opportunity for the European business community in Shanghai to express their appreciation of the Shanghai Municipal Government's commitment to create a welcoming business environment. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the close partnership between the European Union and the city of Shanghai.
In the previous annual dinners, we brought together more than 60 local government officials and 140 members. Leaders of the Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai Municipal Commerce Commission, as well as the EU Ambassador and Trade Officials, met over a business dinner in a unique atmosphere.
This year again, the European Chamber Shanghai is honoured to welcome Ambassador Hans-Dietmar Schweisgut, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia. Again, we expect a high-ranking representative of the Shanghai Municipal Government to address our members.

This events has limited seating and requires registration and payment in advance. No walk-ins accepted.
Cancellation Policy:
If you cannot attend this dinner and you registered please cancel your registration latest by December 6th 2016. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will be charged for event costs.

Speakers
Dr. Hans Dietmar Schweisgut
Hans Dietmar Schweisgut joined the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after obtaining his doctorate in law at the University of Innsbruck and post-graduate studies in the US and the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. After serving at the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations, he went on to hold key posts in the Austrian Federal Chancellery and later as Director General at the Austrian Ministry of Finance. He was Ambassador of Austria to Japan and served as Austria's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China. Following this he held the post of Permanent Representative of Austria to the European Union in Brussels. He was the EU Ambassador to Japan before being appointed to his current position as EU Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia in September 2014.
