To mark the 10th anniversary of the EU-China IP Dialogue Mechanism, the European Chamber is recognising China’s most IP-friendly regions, with an IP Awards Ceremony and Conference on IPR, Innovation and Development.
The European Chamber’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Working Group defined five award categories: Transparency, Efficiency, Cooperation, Deterrence and Fairness. Nominations and case studies have already been received for specific regions in China, and those judged to have demonstrated outstanding performance in these categories have been selected as winners by our panel of judges.
Why is fair implementation of IPR legislation so important and worth emphasising? The answer is simple: innovation. With policy initiatives such as China Manufacturing 2025, the Chinese Government has made clear their commitment to creating the right conditions to foster innovation and the important role this will play in China’s economic growth over the coming years. Innovation can only flourish within a clear legal framework that protects the IP of those companies who have invested in, and are committed to, developing innovative products and services.
The conference will touch on how companies innovate in practice, and will explore what they are doing to protect their IPR. It will also examine the various IPR protection mechanisms that are already in place and the challenges and opportunities that have arisen as a result of recent reforms to IPR legislation in China.
Attend this event to find out which regions in China are most committed to protecting your IPR and gain a deeper understanding of China’s IPR landscape.
