Located to the Yangtze River in Luhe District, Nanjing, BASF-YPC Company Limited (BASF-YPC) is a 50:50 joint venture between two FORTUNE 500 companies — BASF and SINOPEC.

BASF-YPC began constructing the first phase of its Integrated Petrochemical Site in September 2001, which started commercial operation in June 2005. With an investment amounting to USD 2.9 billion, BASF-YPC built 10 world-scale process plants with a steam cracker plant of 600,000 tonne/year ethylene as the centerpiece in the first project phase. All plants employ state-of-the-art technology and BASF exclusive "Verbund" concept to realize energy efficiency and cost effectiveness and minimize environmental impact. The site also has a gas turbine combined cycle power plant and several international ports to ensure optimum energy supply and logistics.
2001年9月，公司开始一体化石化基地的建设，一期项目总投资29亿美元，2005年6月全面投入商业运营。一期项目以年产60万吨乙烯的蒸汽裂解装置为核心，共建有十套世界级规模的工艺装置。所有装置均贯彻巴斯夫独有的“Verbund”（“一体化”）理念并采用世界最先进的技术以实现经济效益最大化、资源利用最优化和环境影响最小化。公司还拥有一个天然气蒸汽联合循环发电厂和数个国际码头以保证能源供应和物流运输。
