Dear fellow Friends and Partners of the European Chamber Chapter Nanjing!

As the New Lunar Year is approaching, I would like to provide my sincerest New Year's wishes on behalf of the European Chamber Nanjing Board to all of you.

Happy Chinese New Year of the energetic rabbit!

2022 has been another year of challenges and obstacles to overcome, including Covid-related restriction or the power shortage challenge in last summer. However, we have mostly been able to master the challenges in our business and personal lives. I would like to express my gratitude to you, our valuable members and partners, local government institutions, and the European community, towards your outstanding efforts and cooperation. With your support, this year has been another successful year for our local chapter, both in terms of activity and membership development.

Despite the uncertainty, we managed to organize our signature events as scheduled. The Annual General Meeting in May, Jiangsu Government Dialogue in August, the badminton game in September and the CSR award ceremony in November attracted attendees from all over Jiangsu. These events have provided the platforms for dialogue and exchange, boosting business confidence and building the sense of community and belonging. In addition to the signature events, we have been continuously advocating for the most urgent issues of our members, such as organizing dialogue with Jiangsu Power Exchange Center, or addresses to the Nanjing Municipal government regarding the optimization of the Covid restriction policy. Aside this, our Nanjing office could successfully support our members in multiple individual cases and challenges via communication channels to the local Authorities.

In the upcoming New Rabbit Year, the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter is again strongly committed to work together with all members and other stakeholders to achieve our goals related to the interests of our appreciated members. This is including but not limited to green energy, EHS, carbon neutrality, supply chain management, talent attraction and retaining, and much more. We will also launch our new edition of the Nanjing local Position Paper in April and celebrate the 10th CSR Awards Ceremony at end of 2023. We will continue to serve our members through dialogues, events, industrial seminars, publications and other engagements. And we are happily look forward to welcoming all members to our Annual General Meeting with new board election in April…, 2023.

As China has been entering a "new phase" in its approach to combating the pandemic, we are excited to see the strong growth of international trade, exchange and collaboration in this coming year. We will continue the journey with the support from members, partners, local governments and others, advocating for the European business community and facilitating communication, dialogue as well as mutual understanding between the two sides. We are also looking for new people to get involved in our active work and I encourage everyone who is interested to join us in this very worthwhile cause.

Once again, I wish you all from the deepest bottom of my heart much joy, happiness, health, and success in the upcoming year of rabbit.

Xin Nian Kuai le! Gong Xi Fa Cai!
