The K-12 school has switched to online mode, and the university has “encouraged” students to leave campus. Food and regular delivery have been disrupted, and the hospital is reported to have “insufficient medical staff”. Unfortunately, we did not see any official update and monitoring on the Covid cases from the official government source. We have collected information online and talked with relevant government officials, developing the following tips for your reference.

 

When will the pandemic peak in China?

So far, there is no scientific model to predict when the pandemic will peak in China national wide. In a press conference held in Guangzhou on December 19, experts predicted that the local epidemic will peak in early January 2023; Zhejiang also disclosed an official study that the epidemic is expected to peak in mid-January, not ruling out the possibility of an earlier arrival; In Jiangxi, it was reported the next wave of the epidemic will peak at the end of December this year and the beginning of January next year, reaching a peak around the Spring Festival. source.

Nanjing rolled out the new round of Covid booster shot plan, priority will be given to people at high risk of infection, people over 60 years old, people with more serious underlying diseases. You can check with your community medical center for more information. source

 

Purchasing medicines

From December 19, Nanjing put 2 million tablets of antipyretic drugs into market on daily basis, the public can buy 6 pills with medical insurance limit. Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office informed us that foreigner nationals also can purchase the pills using passports source
