On 26th June, 2019, Mr. Cheung Yup Fan, the Chair of the European Chamber Tianjin Chapter led the Chamber Tianjin member delegation meeting with Tianjin Commission of Commerce(TJMOFCOM), Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology (TJMIIT) and Tianjin Healthcare Security Administration (TJHSA). Ms. Zeng Yan, Deputy Director General of Tianjin Commission of Commerce on behalf of Tianjin Municipal Government welcomed attendees and expected honest and open suggestions on how to improve the business environment in Tianjin.

DDG Zeng shared that the Tianjin economic growth increased by 4.5% in the first quarter of 2019 and fully utilized foreign investment increased by 4.14% . Tianjin economic development in the first half of 2019 is very positive. Tianjin Commission of Commerce would like to positively understand and solve problems faced by FIEs in Tianjin, especially under the current situation of US-China trade war and its escalation, they would like to make efforts to further improve the business environment and develop a closer relationship with European business.

The Chair of European Chamber Tianjin Chapter,  Mr. Cheung Yup Fan appreciated the invitation from TJMOFCOM and made a brief introduction to the Chamber recent publication Business Confidence Survey 2019 and presented it to DDG Zeng.

TJMIIT introduced the measures on Intelligent Manufacturing Funding in Tianjin which released in 2018 and encourage European business to apply for the funding.

Exchanges were made on topics such as market access (healthcare), policy and implementation (automotive, environment), employee recruitment and retention on  IT outsourcing industry, dangerous chemical logistic, Finance & tax, Hi-Tech enterprises application, US-China trade war, Foreign Investment Law and others.
