Mr. Henry Schneider - Vice Car Plant Leader of Yizheng Branch, Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd.- welcomed and answered many questions from the European Chamber Members present.

Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co. Ltd. (SVW), a joint venture between the Volkswagen Group and SAIC Motor Corp. Ltd. The new SVW Green-filed-plant in Yizheng is the first Standard Plant in China of the Volkswagen AG and has a production capacity of 1 vehicle every minute. The plant houses press shop, body shop, paint shop and assembly line and also a technical testing center and a training center. It employes around 4,500 people in the plant and another 5,000 jobs were created around the factory in the supplier park.
