Aviation & Aerospace Working Group Meeting
Led by Davide Cucino, Chair of Aviation and Aerospace Working Group, European Chamber sent a group of industry representatives to meet up with Joachim Luecking, Head of Unit, Aviation Safety, Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) of European Commission and Peter Sorensen, Policy Officer, Aviation Safety, DG MOVE of European Commission on Monday, Dec 5th at the Marco Polo meeting room of EU Delegation.
During the meeting, WG members and DG MOVE officers discussed various aspects of EU-CHINA ties in aviation and how these may be strengthened with a potential Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA). The officers debriefed members the current status of progress on BASA negotiation between EU and China. European Chamber members provided industry inputs and concerns in relevance to BASA. Officers agreed to bring industry’s voice to the table with CAAC during their future BASA negotiation.
