2021 Annual Conference: China-EU Energy Innovation Cooperation in the Field of Energy Storage

In accordance with the relevant work plan of the National Energy Administration, the China-Europe Energy Innovation Cooperation (CEEI) initiative has been divided into four fields (work streams): Energy Storage, Hydrogen Energy, Smart Energy and Wind Power. The Energy Storage field is jointly led by China Electric Power Research Institute Co. Ltd. (中国电力科学研究院有限公司), Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance (中关村储能产业技术联盟), and European Chamber Energy Working Group member companies Linde and Rolls-Royce.

The General Administration of Customs P.R. China made further clarifications on the follow-up questions raised by the European Union in relation to Decree 248. Members of the European Union’s concerns lie in five main areas: possible risk of trade disruption cased by the implementation of Decree 248, registration of facilities/registration numbers (in China), Article 8 (registration through recommendation by competent authority), Article 9 (self-registration), and labelling-related issues.
